King’s Bounty 2brought a lot of improvements to the tactical combat that was boasted by its predecessor. Refined tactical hex-based gameplay with important RPG elements are the very least that the game offers. It’s up to the player to define their destiny through the Crown Lands of Nostria, facing difficult enemies, commanding their troops, gathering resources, and fighting difficult moral dilemmas that could determine the fate of both the land and the player.

The game can be so complex that itputs various pro players on the edge of their seatsas well. Each minute decision needs a lot of thought, and sometimes, a tad bit of sacrifice. This means that it can also be quite daunting for beginners as well. Players would be wise to not make these common mistakes as they get started on their journey inKing’s Bounty 2.

10Not Choosing The Right Character

In terms of a character being the “right one”, it completely depends on the player. There are three different characters with their storylines and characteristics. Although all three of the characters have a certain amount of access to each other’s abilities, their main differences lie in theallocation of statsand their leadership points.

For example, Aivar is a Warrior who will get more rewards through warfare, the Paladin can control larger armies, and the mage can cast the most spells, but has to compromise on the size of the army. Players should choose their character based on the attributes that suit their playstyle.

9Not Understanding the Character Stats

There are three main stats that players have to keep an eye on. These are Arcane Knowledge, Magic Power, and Warfare. As players increase any of these three, the stats will follow the law of diminishing returns. Essentially, at the lowest level, these stats will yield the highest damage.

With each increase in level, the base stats will increase, making the character more powerful, but the boosts that they receive from each level increase will be lower than the previous level. For instance, the Warfare stat provides unit damage per point. With the increase in Warfare, the unit damage per point will decrease little by little.

8Trying To Balance Out Talents

Players can get Talent points based on the way they carry out quests. The outcomes of quests have different choices that the player can make, and all of them affect Order, Power, Anarchy, orFinesse. Most players start by experimenting with each and trying to find the best balance for their character.

However, trying to balance out all the Talents to build the character along different lines isn’t a good idea. Players should concentrate on one or two particular Talents, as trying to balance the others out (especially at the beginning) will not allow them to reach the higher tiers of a particular Talent.

7Leadership Nuances

The game does not do a good job of explaining how Leadership points work. Players cannot have more units to command than the amount of Leadership points available. For example, if the player character has 800 leadership and a particular unit such as the dwarf requires 240 leadership points per unit, the player can only have a maximum of 3dwarvesin their army at that specific level.

The Leadership points will increase after quests, and players will have to go to a recruiter immediately to recruit more units. Otherwise, the leadership points will go to waste.

6Unit Ideals

Army units inKing’s Bounty 2work quite differently and need a bit of attention. Ideally, players would want to mix and match their army to strike a proper balance against all types of foes. However, there are a few hurdles to this. One of the major hurdles is that the morale of the entire army is based on both the Talents that the player character has and the thesis or antitheses of their Talent inclination.

A unit ideal that has Order as the Talent inclination will not appreciate the player adding a unit ideal with anAnarchy Talent inclination. Too many mistakes and the performance of the army will also take a hit.

5Not Understanding Mana

The one thing players need to understand about Mana inKing’s Bounty 2is that it works as a currency in the game, instead of a force that regenerates by itself. Players have to either find Mana in the open world or purchase Mana. They might even get it as a reward after a quest.

The Paladin and the Mage use the most amount of Mana in the game, especially through casting spells on the battlefield and learning spells. The latter requires the most amount of Mana, and players have to be very mindful of the way they are spending the Mana in the game. Remember - it will not regenerate after being used.

4Jumping Straight Into Battle

This is a rookie mistake. The player has to learn that the only way to beat the enemy army is to utilize all the resources at their disposal and learn about the enemy. This will allow them to analyze the weaknesses of the enemy and plan their army units accordingly. Just jumping into battle without the slightest inkling of what they will have to face will lead the player to an absolute defeat.

A powerful enemy army could have army units with a lot of passive skills that affect the player’s army in various ways. The only way to negate these passive skills is to prepare beforehand.

3Not Saving Before A Major Decision

The game will give various instances to the player where they will have to make difficult decisions to make the game progress. The game usually provides a choice between two paths that the player can take. These choices have major effects on the outcome of the game, the Talent points that they get, and the kind of army that they will have to take to the battlefield.

Players should save before each major decision, as the wrong decision could make the game much more difficult for them than it should be. The choice of an army type paired with the wrong character Talent inclination could lead to more defeats than wins.

2Warrior and Magic

Most players who play the game as the Warrior would not consider using too many spells as this is not the strength of the Warrior. The Warrior is more inclined towards Warfare and reaps the most reward from this playing style. Nonetheless, players shouldn’t hesitate to use the Warrior’s spell casting through scrolls, as this could save both the player and the army.

1Not Using The Map Frequently

The best friend of players engaging inKing’s Bounty 2would be their trusty map. Exploration in the game can be a bit slow, as the character can only jog around areas and cannot sprint. Moreover, traversal with the horse doesn’t offer much of an improvement either.

When players explore the various towns and provinces, they can come across items that they are too busy to notice in-game. However, checking the map will reveal all the discovered items that can be looted, as the game auto-populates the map with the items that the player has passed by. Check the map for thelatest resources.
